From MacRumors kicked of a research into domain name and trademark registrations around the term iSlate. The research of MacRumors and TechCrunch points to Apple having iSlate registered as a trademark in 2007 and also secured several domain names iSlate. Of course Apple did this via shell companies and service providers that hide the actual owners of domain names.The evidence is pretty conclusive that Apple owns iSlate for Apple will use this name for the Apple Tablet, but honestly it would not fit to anything else. Back in October the name Apple Slate reappeared. Apple Slate appeared the first time in 2007, the same year registered the allegedly Apple iSlate name.
